Afternoon tea at Gliffaes

Over the years Afternoon Tea at Gliffaes has become something of a local institution. We serve afternoon tea nearly every day of the year* . Tea is served from 4 to 5.30pm. There is no need to book but please do call if you intend bringing a party larger than ten people.

We set up a large table at the end of the sitting room from which you can help yourself to as much as you like and come back for seconds. And what a feast it is too; homemade cakes, sandwiches, scones with jam & cream and of course, teas and coffee.

There is nothing quite like a cucumber sandwich and a cup of tea to revive the spirit.

Take your tea and cakes to the terrace and enjoy the sun or sit by the fire in winter. Browse a glossy magazine from the good selection we have and put your feet up.

We suggest that you come a little early so that you can have a walk along the river bank and through the gardens, admiring the trees , flowers and views of the mountains along the way. Great family outing. Bring the dog too, he can sit on the terrace with you but please keep him out of the hotel.

Afternoon Tea costs £12.50 per person. We can and do supply a lot of gift vouchers for afternoon tea.

*(except when we are closed in January and once or twice a year when we have a large private function.)
