Looking downstream on the Salmon Pool - early Spring

Salmon Pool Beat – Fast broken water leading into good salmon lies followed by deep (too deep even for wading in the middle) holding water especially for big brownies. Finally it ends with a swift smooth run leaving our water.

Looking upstream on the Middle beat - low summer flows

Middle Beat – Fast falling and many large boulders providing exciting runs over the entire length for brown trout. A wading stick and chest waders highly recommended here.

Llandetty

3/4 mile both banks split in half ; top half smooth and deep water holding many good sized trout. The lower section is more accessible with a number of good salmon lies and is also holds the occasional sea trout.

Allocation of Beats

We allocate beats on a daily basis but if you have a preference please tell us when you book your fishing. If we are very busy we may have to put two rods on each beat. If this is not enough fishing for you can fish many miles of both the River Wye and Usk catchments with the Wye and Usk Passport.

Check the height of the water via live web cam.

This web cam is just downstream of us on the Glanusk Estate and gives an accurate picture of the current height of the river.
