Abergavenny Food Festival has now been acclaimed nationally but it was
a first this weekend for Abergavenny Christmas Food Fair. It was
feared that it would not be well supported due to the dire weather
conditions but in fact it was a huge success with a very large
attendance and a wide variety of stalls selling their mouth watering
wares.
The venue was the Market Hall which had been transformed with striking
floral mobiles. Stalls sold all manner of food and drink, both local
and international.  There was a Christmas Cookery Demonstration hourly
and Karl Cheetham, Gliffaes Head Chef, gave a first class presentation
creating a stunningly attractive Parfait out of left-over Christmas
Pud!  Karl has a natural bent for attracting an audience with his
humour and ability. The Demonstration was filmed for TV and he should
come over well. Recipies and Gliffaes brochures were handed around so
all in all it was a worthwhile event for us. Down load a pdf of the recipe.
