What Cannes is to film, the Abergavenny Food Festival is to food, and just 15 minutes from Gliffaes Hotel.

Gliffaes Hotel chef, Karl Cheetham (pictured above) is participating in the Meat or Veg Challenge – two Black Mountain chefs prepare meat and meat-free versions of a similar dish on Saturday 21 September 1.00 – 1.40pm at the Robert Price Stage, Market Hall, Abergavenny.
If you fancy a break away, the Gliffaes is doing a great OFFER for the Sunday 22nd which includes dinner, bed and breakfast. So why not spend all day Sunday at the festival and then head back to us in the evening.
A preview of events on the Sunday can be found here and include such things as Chicken and Egg – Conversation and Cookery with Kate Humble and Genevieve Taylor, Former TV colleagues, Kate and Genevieve, discuss their respective quests to bring their lives closer to the logic of nature and the seasons. On a working farm in Monmouthshire, Kate has assembled a group of colleagues to revive and teach the fast disappearing arts of rural living; a story she tells in her new book, ‘Humble by Nature’. Meanwhile in the city, Genevieve has become a food-writer, gardener and backyard poultry keeper. She demonstrates some dishes from her latest book A Good Egg, a record of a year’s cooking with the seasons and her own hen’s eggs.
