An Introduction to Print Making Course run over 7 Afternoons at Gliffaes Hotel taught by Veronica Gibson in conjunction with Aberystwyth University.
Course – This course offers you a tour of relief printing methods and encourages you to develop both traditional and experimental techniques. Both lino cuts and woodcuts can be practiced. We will be exploring the experimental process of collagraph. As an Introductory Course you will also experience dry point etching, with the use of a portable printing press.
Venue – With views that inspire towards the poetic and profound, this Italianate Victorian manor, the Gliffaes Country Hotel, is a perfect venue for Art courses. The hotel houses “ contemporary works of Welsh art, These include Veronica Gibson’s bold local landscapes.

This landscaped venue provides endless inspiration. The grounds are plumed with rare and beautiful trees – Japanese maples, handkerchief trees, cedars and ancient oaks. The shubbery and pond add variety.
Details – The course runs over seven consecutive Wednesday afternoons at Gliffaes Hotel, just outside Crickhowell, on the following dates:
April 19th and 26th then May 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st. Starting at 2pm and finishing at 5pm each afternoon. The course costs £110 (£90 concessions) and there is a £20 early bird discount for bookings made before 22nd March)
