Great British Hotels for Summer
The Times picked 50 hotels from across the United Kingdom to book for the summer holidays and Gliffaes was one of only two hotels in Wales chosen.
“A Victorian country house surrounded by the majestic scenery of the Brecon Beacons, Gliffaes has its own century arboretum, an ornamental pond and swathes of azaleas and rhododendrons. Overlooking it all is the elegant house, with 23 pleasingly chintz-free bedrooms, and a restaurant that cooks with ingredients from the best local producers. The hotel is by the River Usk, a great spot for fly-fishing, and the Brecon Beacons are just outside.”
