Having read this again, I realise that I walked this with my family last summer when the falls were only modest trickels but still wonderful. Beautiful walking and stunning secluded scenery with lots of places to pause and share a brew or a hip flast tipple, bridges to cross, stones on which to ford the river and gentle terrain for most abilities. My four year old loved it.

This seems like a great way to while away a few hours, especially as the light is so good at present and the weather is warm. More rain needed, however, to encourage a truly gushing waterfall. #gottalovetherain

At the recommendation of our close friends Tim & Julia Blackwell, we have booked for the night of Friday 16 September and would like a reservation for dinner for 2 people from 7.00pm to 7.30pm in the restaurant and a tour of your cellars as wine is our hobby. Your confirmation would be appreciated.

James please pass on my condolences to the family. The tribute you have written to Nick really sums up the character I got to know in my time on the UUFA Committeee. He was passionate about the Usk and his knowledge of the river made him an outstanding spokesman on all matters regarding the river. He will be sorely missed by those like myself who have worked with him on the various committees he sat on.

I am greatly saddened to learn of Nick’s death and extend to Peta, Susie and to all members of Nick’s family my heartfelt sympathy. He will be missed, but has fully justified James’ loving and sincere tribute.
