Fishing Courses At Gliffaes 2014
We have been running fly-fishing courses at our hotel here in the Brecon Beacons for more than ten years.
What courses do we offer?
If you are a beginner learning to fish at Gliffaes, the Usk will spoil you; this section of the Usk is one of the most beautiful stretches of river in the country and is home to a healthy stock of wild brown trout.
On the other hand, if you are already have some experience but are looking to build upon your dry fly technique, brush up on the tactics that will help you catch fish in fast-running water and to learn to fish with a nymph, or fish ‘the duo’ (a combination of a nymph and a dry fly on the same leader), then the General Improvers River Fly Fishing Course is for you. Non-residents most welcome.

All courses are led by Frank Williams, an APGAI qualified fly fishing instructor (Advanced Professional Game Angling Instructor). Frank’s style of instruction is clear and uncomplicated. He believes that fly-fishing is about having fun and appreciating the unique view of the river and the countryside that this engaging sport provides.
All our three day courses cost £280. This includes 3 days of instruction, any equipment you may need (although we may not have waders for everyone) and all refreshments including lunch every day. Costs DO NOT include any accommodation. This leaves you free to book whatever room you wish. Single or double, small or large. The cost of the course is payable on booking and in the event of you being forced to cancel we will only refund the cost if we can re-sell your place on the course. All courses are open to non-residents.
