Whilst Wales is a magnificent country steeped in glorious countryside and beaches, for some this is not enough to warrant a reason to visit. To give you a reason to visit in 2018, here are 18 hand-picked reasons why you should visit Wales in 2018.

1 – Free Toll On The Bridge!

It may seem trivial to some, but by scrapping the toll fees to cross the Severn bridge Wales has been opened up an abundance of opportunities for business and individuals alike. Our fellow countrymen have plenty of reasons to visit us more freely from across the way….and you can discover some of them right here in this blog.

2 – Year Of The Sea

In 2018, Wales will be celebrating its incredible coastlines and award-winning beaches to encourage visitors and locals to experience the benefits delivered by high seas. You can participate in aquatic adventures such as surfing, Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP), and coasteering. For a perfect afternoon in south Wales, why not take in the exceptional vistas on a blustery beach walk – we have plenty to choose from! From Gliffaes the best beaches to aim for are those on the Gower Peninsula.

 3 –  Fly Fishing

The river Usk is one of the best rivers for wild brown trout fishing in the UK and here at Gliffaes we have 5 beats spread of 2 beautiful stretches of the Usk. Fly fishing begins on the 3rd March and runs till the end of September. We can arrange guides or ghillies to help you or if you are looking to learn fly fishing or improve upon your skills we will be running a number of courses for both beginners and improvers through the season. Those looking for even more fishing can make use of the amazing Wye and Usk Passport Scheme.
