Beacons Creative Retreats at Gliffaes Hotel 7th-9th Feb 2020
February can be such an odd month. January’s resolutions are long since broken and the promise of spring seems a long time away. The good news is that the remaining days of winter are the perfect time to do something completely different!
Gliffaes Country Hotel and Beacons Creative Retreats have partnered up to offer you a space to explore your artistic, literary and creative talents. Here you can try your hand at a number of different creative and inspiring workshops, including leatherwork, basketmaking, screen printing, honing your writing skills, and many more. We have selected inspiring after-dinner speakers to entertain and inform you. In addition you will learn cooking skills with Gliffaes chef Karl Cheetham, get to find out exactly how to prepare your book or novel for publication, and even learn the arts of botanical illustration! Your booking will include 3 days and 2 nights at Gliffaes, all food and refreshments, workshops of your choice and lots more surprises. For full details of all the workshops and how to book, see www.beaconsretreats.com
Where will I be staying?
The weekend retreat and all the workshops will be taking place in the Gliffaes Hotel, a family run, four star country house hotel situated in 33 acres of mature woodland and gardens above the river Usk. About 45 minutes from the Severn Bridge at the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacons and close to the market town of Crickhowell. The hotel has plenty of indoor and outdoor space for all the workshops on offer and you will be very comfortable in one of the 23 individually decorated rooms. The hotel has five types of rooms priced according to size and many of them can be twinned which makes sharing with a friend over the weekend possible.
The rates quoted below include all your meals from tea on Friday afternoon to lunch Sunday as well as all the workshops you wish to attend over the weekend.

More Information about The Retreat Weekend
We are Emma Bevan and Adele Nozedar of Brecon Beacons Retreats. Respectively an artist and a writer, we wanted to make the sort of space that we would want to go to, ourselves, which would inspire our own creative practices. Gliffaes Country Hotel, a dream of a place set in the breathtakingly gorgeous Brecon Beacons, IS that perfect place, giving you real freedom to explore your own literary and artistic talents. Freedom to breathe and be inspired!
As a writer, I know that inspiration never strikes whilst I’m twiddling my thumbs staring (desperately) out of the window, but when I’m actively engaged doing something completely unrelated. I know that this is true for Emma, too. When you come to our retreat, you will have the freedom to choose exactly what you want to do. You might want to book onto as many workshops as possible, or you might prefer some proper peace and quiet – or a bit of both. It’s up to you during the 3 wonderful days and 2 relaxing nights that you will spend with us.
Here are the workshops and talks that we have planned. As well as this there will be after-dinner speakers too.
