November is Coffee Morning Month for Myeloma and Susie is organising a coffee morning at Gliffaes on Thursday 27th November from 10am – 12pm in aid of Myeloma UK and would love you to come.
As you may know, I was diagnosed with Myeloma in August 2013. Myeloma is cancer of the bone marrow (in a nutshell) and annoyingly there is no cure for it….. yet. Therefore funds are urgently needed to try and find one.
At the coffee morning, there will be coffee and cakes as well as a raffle, a cake stall and some other things for your amusement. If it’s a nice day, you would, of course, be welcome to stroll around our grounds and see it in all its Wintry glory. Please do come and bring a friend or two, it will be jolly to have an outing and a get together at this time of year!
If you can’t make my coffee morning, but feel you would like to contribute to Myeloma UK, I would be really grateful for a small donation, which you can give on my Just Giving page.
I am really grateful to our coffee suppliers Charlotte and Giles at Reads Coffee, who have donated some of their delicious single estate coffee beans for the coffee morning, a prize for the raffle and bags of coffee to be sold at the event in aid of myeloma.
Huge thanks also to the following generous people who have donated to our raffle:
Sugar Loaf Soap – Sam Jones
Welsh Lavender – Nancy Durham
Black Mountain Gold – Cathy & Joules Newman
I would also like to thank everyone at Gliffaes for helping me organise the morning, bake cake, grow moustaches and be generally amazing!
Huge thanks also to all those who have already donated via Just Giving – you are complete stars!
Thank you, in advance and I really hope to see you on Thursday 27th November at 10am.
If you are interested in learning more about Myeloma, here is the Myeloma UK web site:
We are still unsure as to when we can re-open. I think it will be around the 24th May.
Gliffaes will not be open for outdoor dining only – I am afraid the numbers don’t stack up for us.
Mark Drakeford, The Welsh First Minister has given no definitive date for the opening of indoor hospitality in Wales.
This matter is further confused by the local elections on the 6th May. If Labour is returned to power he tells us that he will be minded to consider the opening of indoor hospitality on the 17th May and I guess he will give us about a week’s notice taking us to the 24th May.
Online booking is available and reception will be staffed from 9am to midday from Monday to Saturday, so please do call us.
Thank you for all your support and we hope to see you in May and beyond.
James & Susie Suter and all the team at Gliffaes.
