What’s a ‘walking festival’?
The walkers of Crickhowell decided some years ago to share their local knowledge, routes and passion for the hills around the beautiful town of Crickhowell by hosting a ten day long event of guided walks for small groups of up to about 16 people. You find a walk that takes your fancy on the programme, book it and then turn up at the appointed time and place ready to walk. Your leader will then take over. No need to worry about navigation and you can explore parts of the countryside you may have never even considered before.
They are all sorts of walks on offer; long walks with lots of mountains to climb, short walks with no climbing, walks with a historical twist, walks with a nature bent, walks that stop at pubs and even a walk that finishes up here at Gliffaes in time for tea and cakes. In fact I am leading two walks and would love to have you along. (No’s 29 and 43)
Go over to the walking festival website, have a look at the programme to see what takes your fancy and book your place on a walk. Of course, I hope that you will think that Gliffaes would make for a comfortable base for a couple of days walking. In fact our ‘Swallow Offer’ would be perfect as part of the deal is a packed lunch you could take with you on your walk. Dinner tastes so much better after a day in the outdoors.
Places are filling fast so please book now.
Gliffaes will be closed until 3rd March.
Online booking is available and reception will be staffed from 9am to midday from Monday to Saturday, so please do call us.
Thank you for all your support and we hope to see you in the spring.
James & Suie Suter and all the team at Gliffaes.
