There is no denying that Gliffaes is the perfect place to host your dream wedding. With our tastefully decorated period rooms, beautiful grounds and a stunning terrace that boasts one of the best views in Wales, it’s no surprise that couples revere us above all other South Wales wedding venues. Our fine food and friendly personal service make sure that Gliffaes is a truly unforgettable setting for your big day.
By finding our beautiful hotel, you clearly appreciate the intimacy and welcoming nature of South Wales; wedding venues don’t have to be ostentatious to be memorable. Our small but perfectly formed Victorian country house is the ideal choice for an intimate ceremony. As an independent hotel, we strive to keep each and every one of our guests happy; that’s why for wedding parties larger than 64 guests, or for those who wish to include an evening celebration, we offer exclusive hire of our 23-bedroom hotel in the Brecon Beacons.
We are licensed by Powys County Council to hold Civil Wedding Ceremonies in our Drawing Room: a beautifully decorated room with striking period features. The room can seat around 50 people and we are able to personalise the service in terms of music and décor- all you need to do is speak to a member of our team.
We have no minimum number of guests for a wedding and, due to our intimate venue, we can cater to a maximum of 64 guests on a non-exclusive basis.
Should you decide to book exclusive use of the hotel, we can comfortably increase the maximum to 80 people. We have previously catered for as many as 100 guests for an exclusive use wedding, though this does require very careful preliminary planning and we would request that the bride and groom to be give us plenty of advance notice.
Renowned as the most intimate of all South Wales wedding venues, we work closely with couples to see their vision become reality. If you require any further information about hosting your day then please do not hesitate to give us a call on 01874 730 371or email email@example.com.
We are still unsure as to when we can re-open. I think it will be around the 24th May.
Gliffaes will not be open for outdoor dining only – I am afraid the numbers don’t stack up for us.
Mark Drakeford, The Welsh First Minister has given no definitive date for the opening of indoor hospitality in Wales.
This matter is further confused by the local elections on the 6th May. If Labour is returned to power he tells us that he will be minded to consider the opening of indoor hospitality on the 17th May and I guess he will give us about a week’s notice taking us to the 24th May.
Online booking is available and reception will be staffed from 9am to midday from Monday to Saturday, so please do call us.
Thank you for all your support and we hope to see you in May and beyond.
James & Susie Suter and all the team at Gliffaes.
