The Brecon Beacons National Park is just perfect biking country; quite lanes and canal tow paths mixed in with some amazing off road routes all over the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons, something for everyone. But, maybe you don’t have a bike or you don’t have space in your car for two or more bikes? No problem we can arrange for bikes to be be here for when you arrive, all we need to know is how tall you are and how long you would like to have the bikes for.
We call Kieth Lee, from Bikes and Hikes in Brecon and he will bring over a bike that is never more than a year old along with a helmet, lock, map and puncture kit. Go riding, as far and wide as you wish and all you do is leave the bike with us along with a cheque for Kieth. Kieth can also arrange for guided rides, maintenance and navigation courses.
We have used Kieth at Gliffaes for a long time and his bikes are always maintained to the highest standard and spotlessly clean when they are dropped off. We can also advise you on routes and set you off with a packed lunch.
Don’t forget that Gliffaes has a tandem that you can borrow free of charge as well.
We are still unsure as to when we can re-open. I think it will be around the 24th May.
Gliffaes will not be open for outdoor dining only – I am afraid the numbers don’t stack up for us.
Mark Drakeford, The Welsh First Minister has given no definitive date for the opening of indoor hospitality in Wales.
This matter is further confused by the local elections on the 6th May. If Labour is returned to power he tells us that he will be minded to consider the opening of indoor hospitality on the 17th May and I guess he will give us about a week’s notice taking us to the 24th May.
Online booking is available and reception will be staffed from 9am to midday from Monday to Saturday, so please do call us.
Thank you for all your support and we hope to see you in May and beyond.
James & Susie Suter and all the team at Gliffaes.
