Just like many country hotels our busy period is from April to the end of November and out of season we are full pretty much every weekend. We have 23 rooms.
We can serve up to 46-50 for breakfast, 20-30 for lunch ( a mix of bar lunches and a set lunch menu) sometimes more for Sunday lunch, 20-30 for afternoon tea and then a busy dinner service would be 40 or so.
The hotel does a few functions but we certainly don’t cater for a wedding every weekend.
We have a very well-established kitchen brigade under Head Chef, Karl Cheetham, who has been at Gliffaes for 16 years and others in the kitchen have been with us for over 8 years.
We are currently recruiting for a breakfast chef and a commis chef.
Gliffaes Hotel is looking to recruit a breakfast chef and a commis chef (2 positions) for a 5-day week schedule. The breakfast shift runs from 7am until 3pm and we serve anywhere between 20-40 breakfasts every day. Everything is cooked to order.
After breakfast service, you would be responsible for bread making and helping the kitchen team in the preparation and serving of light lunches.
Gliffaes has a very well established brigade in the kitchen who have worked together for many years. This could a great opportunity to improve your skills and work your way up the kitchen ladder.
