This Valentine’s Day, allow us to inform your itinerary – after all, we are renowned as one of the best places to stay in Wales so you can trust our knowledge of the area! We truly love Brecon and no matter what time of year you decide to visit, there are always wonderful things to do and see. Whether you want a romantic Valentine’s Day or just a nice getaway that weekend, we have put together some of our favourite things to do…
There are plenty of routes for you to explore in the Brecon Beacons, all you need to decide is the duration of your walk and what you would like to see. Many walkers opt for Pen-y-Fan and Corn Du thought for less of a challenge, there are three other upland areas; the Black Mountain range, the Fforest Fawr massif and the Black Mountains. Take a stroll around the National Park and see all that nature has to offer. Lakes, forests, beauty spots, trails and secret places are waiting to be discovered and thanks to the packed lunch that we offer as part of our Luxury Retreat, you can spend as long as you like in your own little world.
A late-night activity, but one that is perfect for a Valentine’s occasion nonetheless, stargazing is a beautiful and intimate way to appreciate wonderful nature. One of only seven Dark Sky Reserves in the world, Fforest Fawr Geopark located in the Brecon Beacons National Park will allow you to wrap up warm, hold your loved one close and experience space in a way that will make you both feel closer to it than would usually be expected.
Make your loved one feel like royalty on a ride that will leave them breathless. With spectacular views and the option to hack right up into the Brecons, horse riding or pony trekking is a beautiful way to see the sights of this wonderful part of Wales. Cantref offer exclusive half day exploration rides as they are the only licensed riding centre who can trek on the Beacons. The perfect way to wile away two and a half hours!
A classic way to treat your partner; you can both indulge in two full three-course dinners when you join us as guests of our Luxury Retreat this Valentine’s as part of a two-night stay. Hand-selected wine will be available to you from our extensive Victorian Wine Cellar that we would be delighted to give you both a tour of should you wish. After an amorous evening, you can enjoy breakfast together the next morning in what is arguably the most sought-after of all Brecon Restaurants. Love will still be in the air when you both take Afternoon Tea on your chosen afternoon and if you don’t want to leave quite yet, you are more than welcome to stay with us for longer.
